| Bio: | History Timothy Drake was born to Jack and Janet Drake, and grew up to be something of a naturally inquisitive and bright young boy. His link to the mantle of Robin and the dynamic duo themselves began when his parents started taking him to the circus, where he and his family then witness the tragic events that befall Dick Grayson and his family. It's not long afterward that he notes a miniscule but conclusive detail that reveals a shocking secret. After catching a security tape of Batman & Robin battling the Penguin, Tim realizes that the boy wonder and Dick Grayson share the same repertoire of manuevers, most notably being the quadruple somersault, a feat which Dick was credited as being the only person capable of accomplishing. Before his tenth birthday, Tim discerned a secret that even the Riddler had been uncapable of unearthing; the true identities of Batman and Robin. Despite the magnitude of the find, the boy opted to keep the information to himself, letting it renew his interest in the crime fighting duo's careers, following their exploits as closely as he could. As years passed, it became clear to Tim that not only had Dick ceased his tenure as Robin, but that the second boy wonder's passing had cast a horrible shadow over Batman's existence. His methods were growing more fierce and brutal, and though the vigilante remained in control, Drake surmised that the path he treaded was one that would end badly. After pleading with Grayson to return to Batman's side, Tim decided he'd fill the void in the caped crusader's life himself by convincing Alfred Pennyworth to grant him access to the Robin costume. With the boy wonder's threads, Tim provided assistance to the dark knight and helped in Two-Face's capture. Though hesitant to accept another teenaged partner, Bruce agreed to train Tim both physically and mentally. His true trial by fire did not occur until his parents were abducted and poisoned by Obeah Man, ending with his mother dying and his father falling into a coma. Afraid of the rage that such an event may have birthed, Batman would forbid Tim from becoming Robin. A demand Tim obeyed until his mentor was abducted by the Scarecrow, freeing Batman from captivity in self-made attire. Realizing that the boy had obediently followed his orders to the very end, and noting the youth's reliance on thought to diffuse situations( as opposed to Jason's brute-strength approach ), Bruce finally accepts Tim as his new partner. As the third Robin, Tim undergoes a vast array of training overseas from various instructors Batman holds in high regards, but his most valuable training would come from an unlikely source. Lady Shiva, one of the world's deadliest assassins sees potential in Tim and takes the boy under her wing. Despite the chance of adopting her unsavory means of fighting enemies, Drake instead opts to use her style and apply it in a non-lethal manner, thus the boy's ultimate choice of weapon, the bo-staff. After his return, Robin not only enjoys a successful and well balanced career with Batman, but also pursues a solo career where he puts his natural flair for detective work to good use. Over time, much like the first Robin, Drake forms close partnerships with other teenaged vigilantes; most notably with Superboy who quickly becomes his best friend, as well as Impulse, Wonder Girl, and Arrowette. Forming the group ‘Young Justice’, the team’s roster expands throughout their tenure and enjoy a vast array of wild adventures and dangerous missions. As the team grows older, Cassandra, Conner, Bart, and Tim eventually go on to join Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Raven as Teen Titans. Tragedy hit’s the team during the Infinite Crisis when Superboy sacrifices his life to defend against Superboy Prime, sending the team in their own separate directions, with Tim joining Batman and Nightwing on a one year hiatus from crime fighting to follow the steps Bruce took prior to his rise as Batman overseas. Tim’s trip is cut short when he hears word that Batgirl’s life is in danger. He returns to Gotham only to find that Cassandra Cain now controls her own League of Assassins. After a year of members that have come and gone, the Titans welcome Tim back into their fold as well as Cassie. After the events of Amazons Attack, the two friends now share a romantic relationship. Abilities Like his mentor and the others within the Bat-family, Tim’s only abilities are those he has honed and his own instinctive detective skills. Amongst said learned skills are a wide variety of martial arts, most prominent being the boy’s unique ability with the bo or quarterstaff, a weapon that has never been wielded by any boy wonder prior to him. Tim also sports a knack for computer work, making him a capable hacker in his own right, and his near genius I.Q enables him to work as a the Titans tactician. Most impressive perhaps, is the youth’s sleuthing skills, which the master detective himself; Batman, has predicted will one day surpass his own. | |||||||||
